David the Carpenter

Yes, this David is the one I’m married to. There are others, such as the one who is the acting editor of American Scientist magazine and another who is the author of building birdhouses, bird feeders, whirligigs, and weather vanes.

My husband happens to be a carpenter, but he is not your ordinary builder. He’s been self-employed for 37 years. All of his work arrives by word of mouth.

Since I’m his wife, my words spoken about him would not have the same impact as those said by people who are impartial, especially those of reputable influence. Besides words, pictures can speak volumes.

I’d love to add images on my blog of the work David has done in our own house, but I’m unable to do so without his consent. He is quite particular about who he allows to see the inside of our home. Anyone who knows him also knows that he values his privacy highly.

Those who have entered into our home are impressed by the woodwork David has done on our floors, walls, and ceilings. His last project done for our home was the custom building of our kitchen — including its Hickory cabinets and vaulted ceiling with skylights.

Only twice has his name appeared in publication. The first time was when the local newspaper (decades ago) featured him repairing a fence with Dan Lendvay.

The second time shows he climbed the ladder about as high as a builder can go.

The October 2009 issue of the Hudson Valley Magazine contains the section Hudson Valley Home Fall 2009. There you can read an article by Lynn Hazlewood entitled Saving the Farm.

Ms. Hazlewood’s story highlights the work done by my husband and his business partner. It details the history and process that went into this project, along with mentioning what Bob Anderberg had to say about David and Bob.

David and Bob have also masterfully restored the old farmhouse Bob Smith acquired and now shares with his wife, Chris. Their house is another one which displays the style and quality seen in home magazines.

Besides carpentry work, David offers property management services. He may be contacted via his Property Shepherd site.

PC: No Intelligence Allowed

Once upon a time, when America was booming with freedom, there also existed a correlating abundance of intelligence. We had pioneers like David Crockett who dared to say, “Be always sure you are right then Go, ahead.” Such sayings have now been replaced by, “Be always sure you’re politically correct, then go ahead.” How did that happen and what’s the difference between being right versus politically correct?

For starters, when America began, there was a different type of educational system. Many were home schooled during that era, with far less government intervention.  Those who weren’t taught by their parents attended small one-room schoolhouses. That was education before the National Education Association became the nation’s largest, most powerful union and when things like Socialism, Communism, and Marxism were far away.

To think education is a reflection of intelligence is a mistake. The only education without indoctrination is the kind that comes without any strings attached. The longer an individual has been run through the industrialized brain wash system, the more likely political correctness has replaced critical thinking. Non-politically correct students, who dare to rebel with questions like, “If that’s so, then how come…?” or “How did life begin?”, often times do not remain in institutions of higher learning simply because they cannot tolerate wasting anymore of their life under such an arrogant regime.

National and international media, like television and newspapers, are politically controlled. Government desperately wants to control internet usage. There are too many independent thinkers allowed to use the internet that might disrupt the flow of what’s politically correct. Those who want to play along with the political game hate those who don’t. It’s no surprise that Christians are increasingly hated by others.

Independent thinkers know what’s really behind being politically correct.

To be politically correct means you correct your thinking to match what’s most convenient rather than caring more about seeking after the truth and doing what is right.

Those who helped Hitler exterminate Jews thought they were being politically correct. Ask an elderly Jew his opinion on whether or not those who killed the Jews were doing what was right.

Political correctness is based on relative truth; not absolute truth. There is no eternally consistent right or wrong with political correctness. It’s always mutating its rules and eroding freedom, while looking like it’s something liberating and healthy for society. It’s attractive to cowards. PC people don’t fear standing up for their convictions. They feel safe knowing that the masses share their same condition. It takes real courage to stand up for what is right, especially when you know that it’s not what’s popular.

Intelligence is the ability to apply knowledge to manipulate one’s environment.

It’s not very intelligent to think that you’re manipulating your environment when, in realty, you don’t even realize that you’ve been the one who was manipulated a long time ago.

If you don’t agree, bravely read Political Correctness: The Scourge of Our Times by Agustin Blazquez with the collaboration of Jaums Sutton. They explain how it began and what its purpose is.

Due to the popular cult of political correctness, many are persecuted simply because they dare to rebel by questioning why the topic of Intelligent Design (not to be confused with Creationism) is not permitted public attention. Ben Stein reports on some of these rebels in his thought-provoking documentary Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed.¹

When what’s politically correct is more important than the Golden Rule as said in Luke 6:31,

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

…not only is no intelligence allowed, love is also not allowed.

Hare About Autism Speaks

I spent much of yesterday viewing reactions to the latest Autism Speaks video “I Am Autism.” More are still coming today.

Those who are exposing this propaganda going on are doing such a great job that I don’t know what I can say that would be of much help. The only thing that comes to my mind is, “Keep up the good work!”

I’m fairly silent in my posts about this ongoing issue with Autism Speaks, but that doesn’t mean I’m not continuously praying about it.

This morning, the Aesopic fable The Tortoise and the Hare came to my  mind when thinking about what Autism Speaks is up to.

I wouldn’t doubt that Autism Speaks laughs and mocks at those of us who see that their real agenda needs to get exposed. The people behind this mega organization are as arrogant as Max Hare in Aesop’s fable. Even though we’re moving along like Toby Tortoise compared to them, we need to remember what’s said in Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Maybe someday this whole mess that Autism Speaks has created will also become a bedtime story with a happy ending. Maybe it might be like how Autism Sells is told on Liv’s journey’s blog. If you read it, don’t get discouraged.

Remember the moral,

“Slow and steady wins the race.”

Age Riddle

Can our universe be billions of years old and possibly have been created around 13,000 years ago?

→  Yes  ←

(This riddle isn’t posted to create a debate. It is here to provoke new thoughts not often contemplated.)

A long time ago, I began wondering why I could not find mention of what seems obvious in regard to how old God created our universe. The focus has been (and still is) on how long ago God created His creation,¹ but NOT on how old He created it.

When God created man [Adam], He formed him from the dust of the ground. Why then is there such a lack of attention placed on the importance of Adam already being an aged man of years when God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life to make him a living soul?

When God created the heaven and the earth, age was built into the package right at the start. God is the author of life. An author of a book does the same thing with his story. He starts off with his characters being a certain age. In this example, both authors are above their creation. They both have the authority to decide how things shall begin and end.

Just because our universe can appear to date billions of years old does not mean that God could not possibly have created it about 13,000 years ago.

If you can’t understand this, then you must be looking at it from the perspective of mankind [natural/nature] rather than God Almighty [super-natural/creator of nature].

¹What exists had to come about somehow or else it wouldn’t exist. Whatever is responsible for creating what is cannot possibly be bound by the laws it created. Whoever makes the laws isn’t bound by the laws; whoever has the authority to create the rules also has the power change the rules.

It doesn’t get any hotter than this!

Out of all the topics there are to discuss, I doubt any can create as much heat for discussion as the one in this post.

I’ve been wanting to express my thoughts on it for quite some time, but I’ve been waiting until the right words would come. I tend to procrastinate. However, this might be about the only thing I’m not capable of procrastinating on.

Okay… I confess, I’m procrastinating on introducing what this particular smoking hot volcano is. Before you read further, please know I’m sharing its contents for reading only. It’s not published to debate with me. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

My thoughts about the end of time.

The end of time should be a scary issue, but it doesn’t need to be. Those who are not afraid of it either don’t believe God or do believe Him. The ones who don’t believe, and are frightened by the possibility of the end being soon, at least have more hope than those who think it’s nonsense.

In Noah’s time, only Noah’s family believed. In our time, almost no one wants to publicly say this world will soon be over. Who even likes to inform a loved one that he is terminally ill and does not have much time left to make amends? The remnant of Christians, who courageously will speak up, do not do so with a haughty spirit. They do it because they have to; not because they enjoy it. Unfortunately, there will be some who join this end time bandwagon with the wrong attitude for God only knows what reasons.

It shouldn’t be any surprise that so few will believe the end is near. It makes sense that God would reserve the unraveling of this knowledge for only those who are spiritually mature, because only they are willing to be responsible watchmen at the tower. Scripture abounds with warnings of what we are to expect.

Believing that the end is near is a symptom of salvation. The level of awareness may vary just like it can with a woman who is pregnant. It’s not usually obvious right away, but in time it gets harder to not see what’s going on behind the scene.

Believing that the end is near is not what causes salvation, but it is something God would incorporate in His saints as time approaches closer to Christ’s return. Believing in the Bible isn’t what causes salvation either. There are many believers, but few have the faith of Christ. God only gives that kind of faith to those who wait with a broken heart and a contrite spirit.

If we humble ourselves before God, we risk being humiliated by the ungodly. This is a test of our faith. Is our pride more important or God?

Those of us who lean towards believing that Jesus will return on May 21, 2011 will most likely be laughed at, if that wasn’t the actual day of His coming. That kind of laughter comes from pride and fear. Those who mock such a serious issue are unconsciously afraid and would be relieved to not have their days of being judged arrive yet. They would think of us as being fools for considering an actual date, but in reality, their foolishness will eventually be evident when it’s too late for them to repent.

However, if May 21, 2011 is the day of the rapture and we are ready in our heart to see Jesus, then we will have immeasurable joy while those left behind will just be beginning to experience horror unlike ever before in history. It will be worse than the experience of those who knew they were helplessly trapped above the fire in the Trade Towers of New York City when the terrorist driven planes crashed into them on September 11, 2001. One would have to be an extreme fool to choose jumping off the tower rather than humbly beg for a parachute. Don’t forget how calm and beautiful that morning was. It was business as usual. By the time the planes hit, it was too late. There were some terrorist supporters that knew when this doom was coming, but they kept quiet.

There are (and still will be) billions of people, both in and out of the churches, who desire to look for reasons to not take the end of time seriously. They’re more afraid of what others think about them than they are of their creator, who both gives life and takes it away. What can be more terrifying than to have to give an account to God for not using the life He gave you to live for His will to be done through you? …taking His place and making your will more important than His? Compromising by taking turns between His will and yours being done is what lukewarm ‘Christians’ do and God hates them even more than those who are ‘cold’ and have no passion for Christ.

To be ‘hot’ and filled with passion for Christ is not something that a person can ignite for himself. To the same degree we had control over our own physical conception, is the same degree we can control our spiritual birth. The difference about being already in existence physically, while still being alive, is that we are given the opportunity to beg for God’s mercy and forgiveness before Christ returns. To think that you can wait until you see a reason to humble yourself is not how God planned it. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Were the prophets of the Bible popular and well-liked? No. They were hated, persecuted, imprisoned, and murdered by those who didn’t like hearing what they had to say. Anyone who speaks the truth from the Bible is a prophet. Before a person can have anything worthwhile to say prophetically, he must first listen to what God tells him. God cannot be heard any other way than through where He speaks. That is why He tells us faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the word of God.

The best way we can spot a prophet is by the kind of spirit he usually has and by the kind of lifestyle he lives. Spiritual maturity comes by obedience to God’s will over an extended period of time.

Godliness is displayed by such things as how much love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance typically resides within an individual. It progresses — sometimes two steps back, then three steps forward — but overall advancing forward just like a child in his stages of development.

Spiritual maturity also shows itself by how much someone exercises moderation with the possession of worldly goods (e.g., eating to live versus living to eat) and how much idle talk (or deception) he practices.

As faith grows, a Christian learns it is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy what we have that makes us content. He knows God will answer his prayers to give him enough of what he may need in order to not take the Lord’s name in vain by stealing food or clothing (to prevent hunger or nakedness; not for reselling to get money for other things).

Ironically, all the talk about doomsday coming is actually good news. It’s good because it hasn’t come yet. That means God’s grace is still available. When it no longer is so and you are not ready for that time, then…

Postscript — If I decided to adamantly stand behind a particular date for Christ’s return, I’m sure one of the first things most readers would wonder about is how much a belief like that would influence my private affairs. I would live my life as I usually do. It would not be necessary for me to change anything. Knowledge of a date, in and by itself, would not move me to do anything like fly off to other parts of the world and spread the warning. Having a date is not what would make it necessary for me to change my life. All I need to do is be myself. God can use me right where I am just as well as He can if I were somewhere else.

Having a date or not having a date should not change the spirit with which a Christian spreads the gospel message. A preacher of God’s good news will either be driven by pride (hate) or humility (love). It’s always between God and the individual as to what he or she chooses to believe in regard to what others teach about the bible. People are God’s project to work on. Christians should not step in God’s way and act in His behalf, but they also should not fear to express what they believe either. The key is to be meek and gentle, without being a doormat.

One last note, in regard to knowing the exact day of Christ’s return:

I am not fanatical about that. What I am concerned about is how time, as it progresses along further, has the effect of hardening the hearts of people towards sin. It can do that because it fosters a laid-back attitude about the seriousness of repenting. It’s not much unlike children who think their parents aren’t watching, so they increasingly misbehave the longer they’re left alone. That’s human nature.

A Tribute to Katie Miller

Katie can do things in a top of line manner and she’s an Aspie! I feel fortunate to have had the pleasure to talk with her personally, so I can say that what I’ve included of her in this post is as it appears.

Katie as an advocate for Aspergers/Autism:

Autistic self-advocate Katie Miller speaks at the IACC May 4, 2009 ↓

At section 4:43 ↑ Katie points out that language matters. Autism is not an illness.

In Katie Miller’s IACC Testimony delivered on March 14, 2007, you can read Katie’s words about Alison Tepper Singer (a neurotypical, a representative on the IACC, and the Executive Vice President of Autism Speaks).

I, Sheila, ask,

How many people know about Ms. Singer wanting to murder her own autistic daughter, Jodi?

Katie points out (in the above linked testimony), “Ms. Singer states on camera that she did not drive off the George Washington Bridge with Jodi in the car only because of the fact that she has another child. While the statement itself is derogatory, the most troubling aspect of the incident is that Jodi is playing in the background.”

Katie as an Artist: Katie Miller’s Website Her resume is as impressive as her artwork.

Katie Miller as a comic actress: Diet Mountain Dew commercial ↓

She’s Sniffing Bananas (Mountain Dew)
The video is over when you see ↑ How Dew Does Diet.

Most Aspies are like Katie Miller in that we don’t engage in one-sided conversations (as mistakenly claimed about Asperger people) and we also have a great sense of humor.

Postscript added on 9.29.9 — The videos of Katie Miller at United Nations World Autism Day and Katie talks to parents of people with Asperger’s are no longer available by YouTube due to unknown reasons.

At section 2:28, the (now deleted) video of Katie Miller at United Nations World Autism Day, Valarie Paradiz (another woman on the autism spectrum who lives down the road from me) said, “I would love to see individuals on the spectrum, in as much as it is possible for us, to participate at every level of planning and development so that we can truly address the issue of human rights and discrimination.” ← I agree Valarie!

It’s Falling Near Fall

What’s falling?… my anger I thought was hung during spring cleaning. Fall equinox¹ is near and I see its time to balance some things out in my emotional closet again.

When I’m battling sleep deprivation (like I’m doing again lately), I don’t realize when I’m packing my bags with crappy emotional souvenirs from my trip through the season and stuffing them into the closets of my consciousness. Eventually they tumble out and pop open. It’s not pretty, as you may have noticed from my recent posts.

I wonder how much things like that might parallel with actual physical experiences.

Yesterday, my Aspie son’s Aspieness spilled out from his room of the house into the other rooms. He is Mr. Neat on feet. I’m not sloppy, but lately I haven’t been keeping up to his standards of organization (line those pencils up and do it in a particular order while you’re at it!). How can a 20 year old understand yet what the consequences of insomnia can do to a person? Maybe he does and that’s why he did what he usually doesn’t do?

Usually, the only thing he insists on being in absolute order every night (outside of his room) is the way the towels are hung in the bathroom and how the stuff on the bathroom shelves are lined up. It wasn’t unusual for him to vacuum the house on occasion when asked, but yesterday he went beyond that.

My leaving all the windows open to let in the wonderful scent of maple leaves starting to dry (oh how I LOVE that!), also let the breeze have its way with the papers laying around the house. I was outside raking leaves and unaware of the leaves of paper falling inside the house.

When I came back indoors, I had to pick up the papers off the floor. With the vacuum cleaner still going (Mr. Neat took an unusual amount of time at it), I was only capable of gathering them together into a pile. To sort them out was not possible in my state of being (the sound of a vacuum cleaner slows down my thought processing; to a crawl, when over-tired³).

Is that what triggered my son into tackling the bookshelf in our hallway (normally he leaves that one alone)? That shelf accumulates a lot of notes, being that it’s the station for our phones.² Mr. Neatson (I just gave him a new name) INSISTED I sort out the papers he scattered out and decide what to do with them or else he’d throw them all into the garbage. Being that I knew he was really helping me (oooh… the urge to procrastinate and wait for a ‘better’ time!), I discovered a compromise that pleased everyone.

Waking up this morning and seeing the outcome of yesterday’s household chores seems to match nicely with the upcoming seasonal change outdoors.

¹At 5:18 pm (EST) on 9-22-9.

²Two phones, since it was cheaper to buy another cordless phone instead of a new battery for the original one. The first one disconnects without warning and so does the second one, but the second one does it for unknown reasons (it has a good battery). It’s actually a good system for those of us who tend to lose track of time easily, but sometimes callers end up thinking they’ve been hung up on.

³Running a vacuum cleaner all night would cure my sleepless nights (it’d keep hubby awake all night), but that probably would get expensive after awhile. Fans help, but they’re nothing like the hum of a vintage Electrolux on in another room!

A Self-destructive Infection

I’m talking about a mental infection that society is foolishly enjoying. It’s spreading around by ignorant people who think, “Aspergers is a serious disorder. You have Aspergers. You have a serious disorder.”

Aspergers is who an Aspie is. It is NOT what he or she has! Sheeple will not accept this, because that’s what society really consists of mostly.

It’s gradually sinking into my thick skull as to why many people refuse to accept being told this objective fact about Aspies no matter how many times they may hear and/or read it. I’m constantly being reminded it’s because they don’t care.

They don’t care about embracing an accurate representation of the real world around them. That usually includes not caring about those whom others also don’t care about. What they do care about is making things fit into their perception of reality so that they can be ‘in’ with the herd, even if their herd is blindly running violently down a steep place into the sea to choke (as the swine in Mark 5:13).

The person who becomes the leader of the pack does so because he knows how others think and can manipulate them to do his will (not much unlike familiar spirits which have their way with fools in order to slowly destroy them). He’s like NBC in their desire to satisfy what’s socially popular while simultaneously enhancing it.

Those who conform to this world suffer the most serious disorder anyone could have. Without any treatment and/or therapy [i.e., faith] from God, they’re doomed to remain needy and dependent upon what others will think of them. Nothing could possibility be more insane than believing and trusting in mankind for the answers to the problems in life. The catch-22 of it all is that the more insane people become, the less they’re able to know it and/or care. The more sane someone is, the more he will love his neighbor as himself and will treat others the same way he would want to be treated.

Those who adopt the self-destructive attitude of, “People don’t care about me, so I’m not going to care about them!” are being overcome by evil instead of overcoming evil with good. Wholesomeness is Romans 12:21.

IF I returned evil for evil, you’d hear me saying, “Neurotypical is a serious disorder. You have Neurotypical. You have a serious disorder. You are a serious disorder.” Does that sound like something a tolerant person would say? If not, then what’s the excuse for tying that stinky shoe on the Aspie foot? It doesn’t fit. I don’t buy things that don’t fit. Do you?

Now that the premiere episode of the sitcom Community has aired, it’s too late to stop this social virus from spreading.

I’m tired of saying it and writing about it, I can’t imagine what the readers of my blog must feel like by now! ashamed

Postscript added on the evening of 9.18.9 — For those who might wonder if I watched NBC’s new show ‘Community’ last night, the answer is, “Yes.” I was actually surprised to discover how much more I could learn about human behavior thanks to its plot. I described it to my NT daughter (she didn’t see the episode) as being like a customized key for Aspies to enter into a locked neurotypical room. It allowed me to get deeper into the NT mindset. She had to remind me though that NTs don’t watch television the same way I do. NTs are prone to being programed by programs (as Zingers was). I’m busily entertained by dissecting its components.

Postscript added on 9.23.9 — I watched the second episode of NBC’s show ‘Community‘ last night. This time I was surprised by how unintelligent and boring it was (and they call that comedy?!?!). I don’t know what was wrong with me to sit through the whole thing instead of either changing the channel or turning off the TV!

Postscript added on 10.8.9 — I watched the third episode of ‘Community’ last week and I guess I’ll be seeing the fourth one tonight. Do I really need to continue with my report on whether or not I’m watching more episodes? Even I don’t care to keep track, so why should anyone else want to? …enough said; no more postscripts for this post!

Postscript added on 3.5.10 — I’ve probably missed seeing more than half the episodes since Community began to air on NBC, but as of this past Thursday, it appears I was being over-judgmental too soon. I’m glad to see that the main character Abed is being portrayed accurately as an Aspie and is being presented in a positive light.

NBC’s New ‘Community’

NBC’s Community starts off on developing a negatively filmed image [they're the long-lasting ones] to picture Aspergers as being, “A serious disorder“.

When I first published this post, I had a video clip¹ to include with Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) saying to Abed (Danny Pudi), “Well, you have Aspergers.”

Aspergers is who we are; not what we have. Combining the two statements I quoted from the video clip, that would be like me telling you (assuming you are a NT),

You are a serious disorder.

Humor often times is the route to desensitizing society towards thoughtless behavior. Does this mean it’s now socially acceptable to poke fun at anyone of a different culture/race/gender? I agree with what is said down at the bottom of Verzen’s post,

I implore the show to rethink their position in having this joke within the show as it shows bad taste.

It would be the exact same if I created a show and just started spouting off racist or sexist jokes. We are born with Aspergers, just like others who are born with a different color or sex.

Here’s a sneak preview of what’s ahead thanks to NBC’s desire to satisfy what’s socially popular while simultaneously enhancing it:

The premier episode of NBC’s Community airs tonight on NBC at 9:30 EST time. This show will continue on Thursdays and changes to 8 pm on October 8th.

This kind of stuff is related to what I said earlier today in my post entitled Totally Uncaring.

¹The user of the account where the video was hosted has since removed it.

Totally Uncaring

You know things have gone wrong when advocates have no concern for the very people they act like they care about. This post shall specifically refer to some particular Asperger/Autism advocates.

I’ve already mentioned a couple of mega autism organizations that only a relatively few people know how corrupt they are.

Today, I’m going to tell about how I’ve been treated by a couple of more Asperger advocates. These characters are involved with running a school specifically for Asperger students. Based on my dealings at this point with them, I wouldn’t include them in the corrupt category. But, their disrespect and lack of caring should be exposed.

Hopefully, parents of young Aspie children will make wiser decisions about schooling by having a better awareness of what today’s society has come to. If you love your child, you will do all you can to choose homeschooling if at all possible.

Last April, I volunteered to construct a website (free of charge) for an Aspie school. It was known by them that I am an Asperger individual. I was given the impression that my web designing service would be greatly appreciated.

By the middle of May, the site was primarily finished. All that was needed was to transfer the files to the school’s domain and make some minor changes. I was told, “It looks great!”¹

Now it’s the middle of September and the files have been deleted. Why? Because I got tired of being ignored and getting ‘toyed with’ whenever I’d inquire about the hold up. I was never given the password required to transfer the files to their hosting company. If I had it, I would have gladly let them take over the site I made for them.

It’s not news to know we’re living in a time when you can’t believe what people tell you, but come on… neurotypicals acting as advocates for Aspies and stooping to such thoughtless treatment? People like that make more work for those who do care.

The worst part of all this is that it’s the Aspies who are labeled as having a disorder! What’s the disorder?…that we’re honest and don’t naturally play the games others do?

With all that I’ve been through in my life, idle words stand out like a sore thumb — but since I was looking for a new project to sink my teeth into for developing my skills higher, I decided to ignore my pride and enjoy what I could learn. What upsets me is remembering my childhood dealings with people and then thinking about what Aspie children now have to deal with! God help them, because they’re going to need it with the way society has become!

¹This particular individual overheard me telling someone else about how wrongly I was treated by another group of advocates over the past 1-2 years. This was on the same day the discussion to do their web site occurred. Coincidence? If that’s the case, what difference did that make? No difference = indifferent.

Postscript added later the same day — Little did I realize when I wrote this post I’d be inspired to write about NBC’s New ‘Community’ shortly afterward.

Postscript added on 3.5.10 — What I’ve said here in the above post are typical examples of what has amounted to being Too Many Wet Blankets.
